Erika & Brian — Hoping to Adopt in New York (Open to Contact & Visits)

We are so excited to add a new member to our family!

Dear Expectant Parent

We are so excited to add a new member to our family! Parenthood is an enormous step, and we have spent a lot of time thinking, talking, reading, and dreaming about what it will mean for us.

We recognize that this may be a very emotional process for you, and we want to assure you that we are here to support you in all the ways that we can. Above all else, we are absolutely grateful for the opportunity to be considered as adoptive parents.

This site is a candid look into our lives. If you do choose us, we hope you will do so with confidence, knowing a great deal about who we are and what we put into this world.

With love,
Brian & Erika

Our Story

We grew up together as friends and later reconnected after college—our first date was a live comedy show. As our relationship grew, it became a deep well of honesty, discovery, and, most importantly, fun.

Our life together has been spent on cross‑country road trips, hiking with our dogs, lovingly renovating our home, exploring caverns and reefs underwater, tending to our many plants, savoring great coffee, and spending peaceful nights cuddled up in front of the fire watching a movie.

Our marriage is built on trust and a shared love for food, animals, the environment, travel, and comedy. With this love, we’re excited to add another member to our family—another teammate to share our lives with.

  • A man in a light gray suit with a white shirt and boutonniere, standing outdoors during golden hour, smiling softly.

    Brian

Comedy nerd • Chess novice • Coffee lover

Calm under pressure, empathetic, resilient, and fun. Loves home improvement projects, coffee on weekend mornings, the woods, bonsai, the local chess club, pickup basketball, and writing jokes.

  • A smiling woman with long brown hair standing on a city street at dusk, wearing a gray shirt and a black leather vest, with floral tattoo on her left arm, in front of storefronts and parked cars.

    Erika

Book nerd • Tofu enthusiast • Excellent whistler

Warm, loving, and empathetic. Loves dragons‑and‑wyverns fantasy books, vegan cooking, cuddling our dogs, meaningful tattoos, yoga & CrossFit (without the cult vibes), tech podcasts, puzzles, and live comedy.

Our Home

We live in a historic American Four Square with Queen‑Anne influences on 1.5 acres, less than a mile from our town’s historic village center in New York’s lower Hudson Valley—about 40 minutes from Manhattan.

Our neighborhood is wonderfully walkable: within a few blocks are schools, a grocery store, parks, and hiking trails. We bike or run where we can and are excited to start decorating the nursery.

Our Values

Honest and deep communication that leads to a fuller picture of each other.

We think our home should be a place for our family to

express themselves freely and feel physically & emotionally safe.

Art (particularly film) has helped us think about ourselves and the world differently.

A sense of belonging and community is important to us and we pride ourselves on diverse and robust friend groups.

Learning can happen anywhere (not just in institutions) and we like to follow our curiosity wherever it leads us.

People are, and the universe is, innately good.

We believe in hard work and financial stability, but we also know the importance of downtime, relaxation, and doing something just for the fun of it.

Having both worked in tech, we are aware of how/when technology (screens) can negatively and positively impact the mind.
